If you don't already know this, blogging is not my full time job. During the week, I work as an allocation analyst in a retail buying office. It's the closest I've ever come to securing my dream role. I spent the first 5 years of my career working jobs that left me unfulfilled and unmotivated (more on my career journey in a later post). So when the opportunity came to move into a new role, I jumped at it. And once I received the official offer, you know I had to go shopping.
Working in a casual office where t shirts and jeans are acceptable workwear is certainly a perk, but I've found that when you love what you do, you'll want to love the way you look doing it. For me, that looks both professional and stylish.
Since Monday's can make it a little bit more difficult to love your job, it's the best day to go all out and wear your cutest outfit with the most details. I love the ruched sleeves on this Pixie Market dress (similar dress here and here). They add drama while maintaining a certain air of professionalism that is appropriate for the traditional workplace. Add a statement bag to give yourself that extra boost of confidence throughout the week. You'll need it. It's only Monday.
